Jan. 31 Marks Vermont, Oregon, & Washington State Chemical Reporting Deadlines for Children’s Products

The Toy Association is reminding companies that do business in Vermont, Washington, and Oregon about the upcoming deadline for reporting chemicals in children’s products. The next reporting deadline is on January 31, 2024, and it applies to companies that have sold or offered for sale children’s products in these states during specific time periods.

Vermont:

 Companies are advised to submit reports for children’s products containing any of Vermont’s 86 chemicals of concern to children (CHCC) as soon as possible to avoid any submission delays. The deadline pertains to children’s products sold or offered for sale in Vermont between August 1, 2023, and January 31, 2024. To ensure a smooth reporting process, companies are encouraged to review the provided materials and update their contact information if necessary.

Washington State:

 Manufacturers are required to report if their children’s products contain any chemicals included on Washington State’s list of Chemicals of High Concern to Children by January 31, 2024. The list comprises over 85 chemicals that must be reported annually. The deadline applies to children’s products sold or offered for sale in Washington between January 1, 2023, and December 31, 2023. Reporting should be done through the Interstate Chemical Clearinghouse’s IC2 High Priority Chemical Data System (HPCDS).

Oregon:

Under Oregon’s Toxic-Free Kids Act (TFK), manufacturers who sold or offered products containing CHCC between January 2022 and December 2023 must submit reports for the 2024 reporting period. Companies should review the provided resources for assistance with reporting requirements and use the HPCDS system for chemical reporting.

Companies operating in Vermont, Washington, and Oregon should be aware of the upcoming January 31 deadline for reporting chemicals in children’s products. Compliance with these reporting requirements is crucial to ensure adherence to state regulations and to maintain a smooth reporting process.
